I did it! I knitt my first Doll Sweater!

I am so happy to report that on Feb 26th 2012 I finished knitting my first doll sweater! What an amazing accomplishment let me tell you, I never thought it was possible.
Using Doll Tag Clothing's easy directions, a pattern available from Liberty Jane in just over three nights and 1/2 a day I made my first doll sweater.
I started with my printed out pattern ($3.99 from Liberty Jane Pattern site) I bought the needles and the yarn at my dollar store.
Pattern $3.99, Needles $1.25, Yarn $1.25 = Doll Sweater $6.49 to make! AMAZING!
Best part is I can now make future sweaters for only the cost of the yarn....$1.25 a sweater sounds great too!
I was amazed with how it came together and while I made a few mistakes, I really am impressed with how it came together
I need to work on my tension but I am so happy with how it turned out.

I do however prefer it as a cardigan and not a V neck sweater, best part is you can turn it around depending on how you wish your doll to wear it!
So if you are just starting out knitting like I am give this pattern from Doll Tag Clothing and Liberty Jane
a try, you may just amaze yourself! I am now working on my second sweater!
As with all my posts I would love to hear form you so please leave me a comment or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com

  2. Thank you so much! What fun it was to make, now I am looking out for some yellow yarn to make my niece Trinity one for her dolls and hope to have one for each of my nieces come Christmas time!

    1. Remember my Valentines Plan for my nieces and BFF's Daughter? I am still 3 boots away from completing that. I only managed to get one done, but Cub Scouts overthrew my life.

  4. Really cute, and I like it as a cardigan, also. I bought the pattern after seeing the finished sweater on your doll!

  5. Your sweater turned out great! I like it both ways-as a pullover or cardi. I like the varigated yarn you chose; it gives it more interest and goes great with the jeans.
