Throwback Series The Toys We loved- Brandy's First two picks...
Today in our series about our favorite toys Brandy shares two of her favorites. A treasured Monkey and a much loved little doll!
Zippy the Monkey "One of my earliest memories of my toys was my Zippy Monkey. I’m thinking I got him around 1979 or 1980. I remember playing with my next-door neighbor, Aubrey, who was a few years older than myself. She had a Zippy Monkey and I fell in love with him. She let me borrow the toy until Santa delivered me one of my very own. I still remember the sound of the squeaker in his arm. "
Strawberry Shortcake "LOVE this doll so much! I think I got her in 1981 or I must have been 6. I played with this doll every day for years! I recently saw a vintage Strawberry shortcake in a Target store the other day; the scent flooded me with a ton of childhood memories."
We would love to hear from you on your favorite childhood toys, join us next week to see what another member of the team has selected to share.

What a cute post. My favourite childhood toys were baby dolls, which I still have and my dear Barbie dolls. I just loved them. I spent HOURS making up stories with my younger sister. I played with my Barbie dolls until I was 15! We created a long story about the Civil War in the USA. I even made a log cabin out of cardboard, drawing on the logs outside on paper and gluing it on, and making bay windows out of the plastic from a cookie container. Oh the memories...
ReplyDeleteI have so very many favorites from when I was little and then some! First was my treasured stuffed bunny. He went with me almost everywhere until college. He was too frail for that adventure.
ReplyDeleteSecond, we had Barbie dolls. My friends and I would play for hours. We all had different sets too. Two of us had the townhouse with elevator, but another had the plane and another the camper. What fun we had!
I've always had a thing for dolls and stuffed animals. My dolls were always well decked out as my grandmother was a wonderful seamstress and crocheter. She made wardrobe upon wardrobe for dolls of all sizes and the curtains and rugs for my doll house.
