Spring Reads, Doll Themed Books We Love!

There are so many doll books I love and if you are looking for something to read this Spring for yourself or with a young doll lover in your life here are some of my recommendations. The above photo is of The Doll People series by Ann Martin and Laura Godwin this is such an easy series to get into and fall in love with. Adventurous Doll lovers are going to tell you this is the best doll read ever!

I am a mystery book lover and Samantha's Mysteries were the first ones I picked up, I loved Clue in the Castle Tower so much! Samantha's story line is by far my favorite and I hear she is coming back to the 18 inch doll line late summer, I hope that the rummors are true! I love all of the AG Mystery books and if you get a chance pick these up at your library, book stores or on line!

For our much younger doll lovers I love the La La Loopsy Series of books great as starting readers and the subject matter is so cute it is hard to walk by with out picking these up.
On my list to pick up is the Bitty Baby new series. About dolls and tea' has to be on my to be read pile!
Oh Raggedy Anne Fans take note! ! Oh how I loved Raggedy Ann! Click here to find out about B&N listing for this wonderful book!

If you are an adult doll collector and mystery lover may I recommend this series by Deb Baker, you can get this series for your E readers really easily, I really enjoyed it and Deb is one of my favorite authors.

Looking To Attend A Doll Show in Canada? Check Out This Post!

I am still finding out new things about the Dolly World Every day and while I am not an expert I would like to surround myself with experts in the field. I thought it would be fun to share some of what I have learned with all of you. Growing up I remember hearing about Doll and Bear shows that would come to down and I thought it would be fun to go to, I never made it to one as a child but as an Adult who loves Dolls I think I will put this activity on the bucket list.

So where do you start if you want to try to find a doll show? For me, I started with Google, I typed in Doll Shows in Canada (which is where I live if you are new to my blog) and was thrilled to find www.DollieCentral.com which gave me the list of Doll Shows in Canada...none of which are close to me but fascinating all the same! Make A Doll Sweater Tank Top Or Dress From An Adult Sized Sweater, A Quick Craft by Madelon

Today Madelon shares a great idea for up-cycling a Adult size sweater into a fun Spring look for dolls in just minutes!
"This was so easy. I removed the sleeve at the shoulder, cutting across diagonally.
Then I folded the ribbing down to make a cowl neckline."

You can cut the sleeve long for a dress or short and on the bias to make a long tank! I love the look!
For the arms you can place the sleeve over the doll fold the cowl neck line down and use your eyes to see where to make the snips in the fabric for the arms....you may want an adult to help you make the cuts.

This is such a fun way you can easily add to your doll play collection! Madelon paired the tank with some jeans and shoes from Our Generation to complete her modern look!
Thank you Madelon for sharing this wonderful idea with us today!

Looking For A DIY Dolly Sewing Cabinet, Check Out Madelon's Fun Find!

We have all seen Isabelle's Sewing Set, a play set which is very beautiful but priced way out of many doll lovers budgets. Madelon has found a very affordable way to make her own.

"I am trying to make a sewing area for the dolls. This wooden piece came from Hancock fabrics. Regularly $40, it was on sale for half price, plus a five dollar off coupon. At $15, it was a great deal."
Just look at all that wonderful doll play space!

Personally Madelon and I love the print but you could paint over it if you preferred!
You could use this cabinet for more then just a sewing room for your dolls, I think it would do well to store dolly tea seats, food, shoes, clothing and more.
Keep your eyes out for a cabinet like this one you can add to your doll play collection.
