Madelon's Review of the Star Spangled Fan Gear

Today Madelon is sharing her review of the new Star Spangled Fan Gear she got at the AG store....

"This $34 outfit was issued in January just in time for the 2018 Olympics. It comes with a Pom Pom hat, red sunglasses, top, pants, sneakers. I like the vibrant colors of this look. The pant legs fit close to the leg. I like the bright red of the pants. I really only trust red fabric made by American Girl on American Girl dolls. Other brands concern me with the possibility of staining the vinyl. That is why I was willing to pay more."

"I wish the outfit cost less-maybe $24.95. It is marked special edition star spangled fan gear on the box so I don't expect they will make a lot more of these. American Girl has been holding more sales than it used to like the berry sale it had last week. Hopefully it will be reduced soon, the silver sneakers make a great neutral shoe."

Thank you Madelon for sharing your new outfit with all of us. We would love to hear from you all, so please leave us a comment here or email us at karenmowen@gmail.com.

Karen's Adventures Back To Barbie

This week I am sharing my niece PB and my dolly dress no sew creations. While visiting me recently she thought that the dolls all needed new dresses and she wanted to do everything herself.
At three there is only so much she can do so I gave in and brought out the scrap fabric I had, ribbons and she used safety scissors. I was only allowed to help with the scissors when they got stuck and I was allowed to help roll the dresses on the dolls as well as tie the bow but everything else she did herself.
Far from professional but she was very proud of herself and her dollies new dresses. It was a great activity with her as she learned and played.
Thank you for joining me for this weeks Adventures back to Barbie.

Madelon's $10 American Girl Doll Gold Boot fun find!

Today Madelon shares her $10 American Girl Doll Fun Find...

"American Girl released at least 5 new pair of footwear  in January at $10 each. I am very impressed with the selections and price. Having realized during a photo session I did for a Doll Diaries Throwback Thursday on doll shoes many years ago, I own over 300 pairs of doll shoes."

"Many came with outfits that my mother collected for my daughters, but most I hand selected.  I guess I am a fan of doll shoes. At times, American Girl boots sell for $14 to $16. I am happy the price on these slip-ins is $10."

Great find Madelon! Thank you for sharing with us here today. We would love to hear from you so please leave us a comment here or email us at karenmowen@gmail.com

With a small budget and some great natural lighting you can create a photo backdrop for your dolls.

Madelon shared her tip!  "I got two small white foam boards from the dollar store and taped them in the back at three spots with duct tape. They can fold up when not in use. You can lean the dolls up against it or have them stand on it. "
