Walmart Fun Finds! Flower Hair Clips and Great Outifts For Dolly's In The Baby Section !

Finding items for doll play in the most unlikely of places is a talent we know Madelon has, today she shares with us her baby section find at Walmart.

Adorable right!

Keep your eyes open for wonderful hair accessories that wont snag your dolls hair like the ones Madelon has found in the baby section of her Walmart! At $1 these make a great party favor and you can afford to pick up a few for dolly and me outfits!
Now let's talk about her dress.  Madelon picked this yellow polka dotted dress in the baby section too!
This two piece set sold for under $7 and with a slight adjustment in the back makes a wonderful dolly dress!
An unexpected bonus the shorts fit too!
Remember that not all dolls are made exactly alike, some of my AG dolls have larger bottoms and waists then others so these may need adjusting if your doll is a little light in the stuffing. This is a great find and Thank you so much to Madelon for sharing her finds and ideas with us today!

The Broken Doll A Wonderful Service That Puts Dolls In To The Hands Of Those Who Need It Most

The Broken Doll is a wonderful new organization I have just liked on Facebook. This is a charity I am thrilled to share with you about.
The Broken Doll accepts loved dolls and transforms them and donates then to girls in the Foster Care System in Tennessee.

I grew up in a Foster home, my parents were foster parents to more then 40 children from the 1980's until my mothers passing in 2010. The idea of putting doll play and fun back into a child in crisis's life is one I am in full support of.   Many of us rescue and donate doll in our own areas to charities in need and I am often asked how people can give back to their Dolly Community, The Broken Doll is a great example of how you can help. You can help by donating dolls, clothing, accessories and outfits by contacting The Broken Doll on Facebook via message by clicking here or    you can also email 4thebrokendoll@gmail.com with the subject line of "The Broken Doll Donations".
I asked The Broken Doll about  their service and was surprised and thrilled to hear that they are looking for help across the USA!

"I have two ladies from two other states to make homemade doll clothing who have partnered with me and are sending me clothes for these dolls that are arriving next week. Currently, I am the only person that is doing the painting and refurbishing of the dolls. I am hoping with more awareness, I can get others interested in this area to join me. I am also hoping this will encourage people in other states to start similar community programs."

My hope is that some of you my wonderful readers are inspired by today's post and that you may wish to join this wonderful doll play movement. Please contact The Broken Doll by clicking here if you are able to help, please share their message and help get doll play back into the hands of some very deserving girls.

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers day to all of you mothers who kindly read my blog! The above photo is me at age 4 on my birthday. I have always loved dolls. My mother would lay out a blanket on the middle of the living room floor and place my birthday gift in the center usually a doll so it would be the first thing I saw when I woke up in the morning.
My Mother (with the help of my sister who did the driving) gave me my first American Girl Doll in 2009, less then a year later my mom passed away, through my grief, I began crafting and sewing for all my nieces and their dolls, then writing about what I was doing, which was so therapeutic for me.
So today I want to honor my own mother, for instilling in me the love of dolls and encouraging me to never give up that love. It is because of her that I have all of this and all of you.
Thank you all so much and Enjoy your day.

My Life Spring Outfit, Dress, Shrug and Hairband A Great Doll Play Value Under $10

Madelon went to Walmart recently and they had many wonderful new Spring dresses in the My Life As collection. This dress and headband were sold with a net shrug for $9.97!
This outfit is fantastic, the hair bow is so lovely on the band but the band it's self has teeth so be-careful  not to snag your dolls hair!

I love how the shrug is so simple it really adds to the outfit!
This is a great find and a wonderful addition to Madelon's Dolls Wardrobe! Keep a look out for these wonderful outfits as they are sure to sell out fast!

American Girl Craft Doll Apron! I Loved This Gift!

One of the gifts I got for my birthday was this wonderful Doll Apron Craft Kit! This was so easy and fun to do and I have so many left over iron on pieces I can embellish many more dolly items!
It was not to hard to pick out what I wanted to put on the top. I love Cupcakes and thought as I got it as a birthday gift I would put the cupcake on the top!
I am thrilled with how it turned out and I highly recommend this craft kit, so much inside and I can make a girl sized apron to match with all the extras as well!
If you have a Walmart near you or Michael's the craft store check their craft section you may just find a kit or two for yourself or to put away!
Zully also has had these for sale and I believe you can find them through americangirlcrafts.com
