Jessica T's 123 Mulberry Street Gardern Tea Dress Pattern Review

Here at Karen Mom of Three's Craft Blog we try to showcase many designers and patterns so that you may enhance your own doll play experience and collection. Jessica T recently made a few dresses from 123 Mulberry Street's Garden Tea Dress Pattern and we both agree this is a fantastic pattern and perfect for those of you wanting to make Easter Dresses for your dolls.
Jessica T says "The polka dot is a knit fabric and the flowers is woven"

"I think that it's a good beginner pattern although the instructions are slightly scarce.  I like that there are dimensions for the skirt pieces rather than a pattern piece so I don't have to print it. Also, while it's great as is I can see how it could be embellished to give lots of different looks."

If you are looking to make a fun new dress for Spring or Easter Check out 123 Mulberry's Pattern for  Garden Tea Dress on Pixiefaire by clicking here.
Thank you Jessica T for sharing your completed dresses with us today!
As with all our posts we would love to hear from you so please leave us a comment here or email us at karenmowen@gmail.com

Back to School Uniform's On Etsy

For Grandma's Sewing Room School Uniform Click here

Growing up I went to public school and was secretly jealous of the girls in my area who got to go to the private schools in the area and the cute uniforms they got to wear. Looking back I know the grass is always greener on the other side and those girls likely wanted to not wear a uniform. Today I wanted to show you some of my favorite Back to School Etsy Uniforms for Dolls. The above is a classic example of the fun tartan I would have loved to wear!
I think this is another great value set offered by Sewn by Marie I love that you can get the gym outfit to match!
You know my love of mini dolls by now for sure and this pdf pattern from Sweet Silver Creations for a crochet school uniform was too cute to not include. I really need to figure out how to crochet! Click here for the shop listing.

I love this perfect pleated skirt from SewAmericanGirl this would complement any dolly wardrobe!

Click here for shop and listing.
Want to try making your own back to school outfit? Check out this fun pattern from 123 Mulberry Street and Liberty Jane's Etsy Shop by clicking here.
Don't forget the neck wear from Doll Tag Designs and Liberty Jane's Etsy Shop! Click here for listing.

Sewing For Bitty Baby

I recently did a swap outfit for Bitty Baby in my Adventures in American Girl Swaps on Swap Bot and for this swap I made a flannel dress and diaper for my partner Skippy's Mom's New Bitty Baby.
Not having sewn much for Bitty Baby I was thrilled to try out a pattern from a book I got for Christmas in 2010, Joan Hinds book All Dolled Up.
While the book has some great patterns it is not a sew step by step book like the patterns I am use to with Liberty Jane Patterns but I still managed to make the dress and was pretty happy with the way it turned out!
For the Diaper I actually made my own pattern and used Felt from the Dollar Store to line the diaper and did the outside cover in the same flannel as the dress. I sewed Velcro Dots in place at the sides and the diaper was complete. I still need to work on my pattern a bit and sewing the sticky velcro dots did a number on my machines needle but with some re working I think I can make a few of these as Christmas gifts for my nieces bitty baby dolls.

Currently on Pixie Faire by Liberty Jane you can find two Bitty Patterns from one of my favorite designers 123 Mulberry Street and I know you will love these patterns. I have both of these patterns and they are so easy to follow and make even for "new to sewing" sewers! These outfits make great gifts for any doll lover. The best part is if you start sewing now for the up coming holiday season you will be amazed at how much easier sewing for dolls becomes and how many great gifts you can make. I started out by using materials I had on hand to practice, like my children's out grown clothing. You can also pick up in expensive material and start with that.

I would love to hear from those of you how sew for Bitty Baby and the twins, what patterns do you use? Any luck with Simplicity Patterns? If you know some great sewing patterns, knit or crochet, share your link with me so I can share with all of my readers and lets start sewing together items for the Bitties Too!
As with all my posts I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here or email me at karenmowen@gmail.com
