Pink Swap!

Having three boys I do not have a lot of pink in my life, (except for my pink tea pot!) so when the Pink Swap came around in my Swap-bot Swap group I was so excited! That being said I have the hardest time picking out pink fabric so I went with something safe and fun I hope my partner would like, she is also a  mother of three boys!

For my partner Terri, I made a stay up pink towel, stay on pink bath hair towel, a bath poof, a pink hand towel and I included some fun erasers that are perfect as doll play accessories, a toothbrush, soap and perfume bottles. My favorite item to send was my dollar store gem find of doll sized shower caps!
I also sent along a relaxing music cd for my partner for bath time.
I had so much fun with this swap!

Addy's Ice Cream Set, more wonderful photos from Brandy

 Back in December Brandy Shared with me one of her daughters holiday surprises and photos with me. She very kindly allowed me to share them with you. I thought it would be fun to save this post for the warmer weather. 

"My oldest Jayla has always loved the American Girl doll, Addy.  She is one of her top favs.  She has been wanting Addy's "Ice Cream Set."  Cherry pie is one of Miss Jayla's favorite desserts!  Well...the price tag was a bit high at $68 dollars for a set that was meant for only two dolls.

 So I got creative.  I used dishes and forks we already had.  I used cupcake paper doilies that we already had.  Jayla already had Addy's blue Dress that came with the exact same flowers as in the ice cream set.  I used a tiny vase (the one I use when the girls pick me "flowers" (aka weeds) from our yard. 

I had already made a cherry pie in for Christmas craft.  I used white pom-poms for the ice cream, which I always seem to find in my craft bins.  I purchased the actual AG Ice Cream maker from EBay for $9 and the actual AG pie server from EBay for $3. 

Took some patience, but I got really good deals.  I placed everything on a dark brown tablecloth (cloth napkin from my actual Thanksgiving set.)  Went with a dark brown so the white of the little doilies would pop....and Addy's table from AG is a deep brown wood tone."

"All in all, this set serves 6 dolls and comes way under budget. "

Springfield Fun from a Friend

I love Springfield Dolls, so when I got a package in the mail from my friend Char at Doll Diaries I was over the moon. She put together a fun surprise package for me and I was thrilled.
I had my eye on the Springfield Cheer outfit for the longest time, I usually pick up Springfield Doll Clothes and accessories for my nieces, for birthday gifts and for surprise Dolly Mail. I usually do not get anything for myself. This package was truly a treat.

Included in my package were the fantastic Ballet flats that go with everything! I love these versatile shoes and the little bows remind me of the shoes I had when I was 7!

 

Char even sent me the matching purse! How cute is this! This purse has a working zipper! I loved it!

 

I was so excited to see these Sunglasses in the box, I love the shape and the pink lenses!

I think I may have to do another post all about the Sunglasses! I think they are the perfect summer accessory!

I write about the Bunny Slippers a lot, you may have noticed. These are my favorite accessory to purchase and give. Every little girl and doll needs a pair of bunny slippers for their doll.

I am so thankful to Char from Doll Diaries for this fun Birthday package she sent me and to Springfield dolls for putting Doll Play with in the reach of so many Doll loving girls across North America with their fashion forward style, quality and affordability!

Tea Dress Swap on Swap Bot

I set up a tea dress and tea swap on Swap-bot for my group we each had two partners to send to, I had some fantastic tea fabric in my stash and made my partners each a dress. I included hair elastics for their dolls, a bracelet I made with faux pearls and a tea cup charm and I made a doll sized Felt tea cup and saucer for each of my partners.

I am working on a pattern to share with all of you so you can make your own.

my friend always gets mad at me when I don't sit by her at lunch or play with her at recess or even have other friends i ask her if she wants to do something with me and she either gives me the silent treatment or says she doesn't want to what should I do?

Dear Jessica,
Oh no! I am so sorry your friend does this to you. I think we have all had a friend like this or been a friend like this to someone before. Usually if a girl is acting this way it means she is really worried that if she shares you with someone else, you will not be there for her. It can be a tough situation. I think you need to be honest with your friend and tell her how you feel, that you will still be her friend and that sometimes you need to do other things at lunch and with other people. Re assure her that you are still her friend even when you are not sitting right beside her. 
Hopefully your friend will understand.

Sew from your stash 2 Swap

My Swap group and I agreed our sew from your stash swap was so much fun we had another one.
For my two partners I made Spring/Summer Pj's or casual outfits

I made each of my partners the same pair of pants but different tops and just like the last swap we were not allowed to go out and buy any fabric for this swap, we had to use only items we had on hand. These swaps really are helping me with my New Years Resolution of Sewing through my Stash.
In each of my Partners swap envelope I included 6 hair elastics for their dolls that matched the outfit I made.

My partner SewCrazy made me a great dress and pants from her stash of material she has from altering garments in her town. I always love what she sends me as they are perfect for my nieces to put on and the textures of her doll clothes are wonderful.
Due to the international postal shipping and the time it takes I have not yet received my second partners swap, but I look forward to it when it clears customs.
