Joyus Kwanza

If Kwanza is a holiday you and your family celebrate I wish you a very Joyous Kwanzaa!

Last year I created a Kinara for my doll. If you would like to make a Kinara for your doll click here for directions.

I also made a Unity Cup last year for my dolls, to learn how and more about the Unity cup please click here.

I wish you a very Joyous Kwanza

Check out my Maple Cabin Lodge Outfit!

Well Stacy has a new outfit, I could not wait to order it when Maplelea had the free shipping and thanks to my Friend Lauren (who had it added to her order) I now have this fantastic Maplelea Set.
I love this set, Maplelea Hit this out of the park! It comes with the sweater (which I would really like in my size!) as well as the mits, scarf and vest...but the best part has to be the hat!
I love this hat so much, the ear flaps can be worn up or down. It is furry and fluffy as well!
This set is offered at $40 Canadian and I normally do not spend that much on one outfit but I loved this one so much! Click any of the highlighted words to see the listing on Maplelea's website.
And for those of you wondering the outfit with the exception of the gloves fits American Girl dolls as well.

Thank you to Lauren for ordering this set for me as well as braiding Stacy's hair!

Sorry that I have not posted these daily as intended but I still wanted you to share in my excitement! I did open them daily but like most of us during this time of year I ran out of hours in my day.
Here are the last few days of my Advent Calendar and I can not wait to get started on next years!
Day 19 I received a doll sized angel orniment
Day 20 I received a doll sized Plant!
Day 21- this 3D tree is the perfect center piece for my dolls table! What a fun idea!
Day 22- A doll sized wreath
Day 23- Was the coolest little doll for my dolls with outfits that you can dress up and remove. Super Cute!
Day 24- today I got the cutest Poodle Purse with a doll sized tissue holder, I love this so much! Seriously cute! What a fun set!

I have enjoyed this swap so much again this year and have enjoyed getting up every day to open my present! What a wonderful way to enjoy the season.
I hope you enjoyed this series and that you may be inspired to create your own for the doll lover in your life next year!

Chistmas Eve, time for sledding!

Sledding if you happen to be in a winter wonderland at Christmas is one of my most favorite activities. It is a great way to enjoy all that winter has to offer. If you are lucky enough to have snow this Christmas Eve then I recommend you hit the hills!

If however like me you are having a wet or green Christmas you can still enjoy this activity indoors through doll play. Over at Springfield Dolls this wonderful craft appeared on December 21, I am completely in love with this craft and had a "Why did I not think of this" moment when I saw it so I knew I had to share it here with all of you. If you have not had a chance to see how to make it Click here to go to the Creative Hands Website featuring this Springfield craft!

There are also some other wonderful Sleds and sleighs you can pick up this post holiday season and add to your collection.
I love the Maplelea Toboggan (Sled) is offered online for $42 Canadian and two dolls can comfortably ride!
Last year I picked up this Holiday Sleigh at Micheal's the Craft store after Christmas for such a great price. Check your local craft stores or thrift shops for these! Click here for last years post. Not so much as as Sled but a Sleigh and a great addition to any doll play collection.
Madelon received Kit's sled as a gift and kindly shared her photos with me. I think any collector and doll lover would agree this is a great sled.
If you are lucky enough have a sleigh or sled  in your collection I would love to see your photos. Be sure to email them to me at karenmowen@gmail.com

Last January I picked up this set including my horse "Pickles" for $30 after Christmas from Sears Canada, it was more then $149.99 before Christmas. I love my horse but the sleigh is not well made it is flimsy plastic but was a steal at $30! Check your stores, on line and thrift stores you may just find something like this, you never know! To see my post from last year on my Canadian Blog My Maplelea My Country My Doll click here .

If you are looking for plans to build a wooden sleigh for your doll a great pattern can be found by clicking here. Wood Workers Workshop.com offers their directions for $9.99.
If a hook is more your talent check out Maggies Crochet blog for this amazing set, this is now a blog I am going to visit more for sure.I wished I had seen it sooner to share with all of you!
There are so many wonderful ideas here on the Web and I am truly inspired for next year already!
I hope you and your families enjoy all the holiday has to offer and if Christmas is a holiday you celebrate I wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Journey Girl Snowboard set review by Madelon

Madelon's Doll  Kit was lucky enough this Christmas to receive a Journey Girls snowboarding set.

" It comes with the helmet and goggles, parka and pants, black boots and snowboard. The boots pictured don't come with the outfit."

"I replaced them with Our Generation boots as the Journey Girls boots didn't fit. The jacket has really cute fake pockets"
"I love the coat and the collar!"
"The helmet is really high quality plastic, very well made"
You can find this Journey Girl set at Toys R Us on line by clicking here, offered at $24.99
This is a great doll play set for 18 inch dolls, just keep in mind the wonderful Journey Girl Dolls are slimmer so the pants are a tight fit and shoes do not usually fit most 18 inch dolls.
