Four generations of crafters working together to bring you Honey Creek Crafts

Honey Creek Crafts opened their shop last January after reading about Etsy in Readers Digest.  Since then they have listed more then 200 items made by this family team!
From Flip chairs to clothing items for 18 inch dolls this shop has it all. Reasonably priced at $6.50-$40.00 there is something for every ones holiday budget.

My favorite items have to be the flip chairs.
I love the designs and styles available and priced at $20.50 a great deal.

I love this holiday skating dress for under $25 the fur trimmed skates come with the outfit!
Every doll lover waiting to hear about the next doll of the year is sure to be excited to see this. 2012 is an Olympic year and here is a great way to add to your doll play collection and cheer on your team.
If you are a soccer lover you have to take a look at this shoes included!

Carrie of Honey Creek Crafts tells me
"We've been in craft fairs as long as I can remember. My Grandma(Ella) and Mom(Carol) when I was just a baby. My Grandma used to knit baby things. She'll be 90 in March but with her arthritis, she's given it up. My Mom used to crochet, sew, cross stitch, needlepoint, growing and painting gourds and painting country crafts. My Mom is one of those people that excel at any art or craft she tries. I learned to crochet when I was 9 years old. I mostly crochet for babies. My Mom was in a craft fair years ago with her painting and saw someone had a booth with handmade clothes to fit American Girl and they seemed to be doing pretty good business. Up until then we didn't even know what American Girl was. So Mom bought a few patterns and started sewing doll clothes. She's been sewing clothes to fit American Girl for about 7 years now. The same time she started sewing, she started collecting the dolls and she now has the entire collection of the historical dolls. I've recently started designing my own patterns for crochet sweaters and hats to fit the dolls, some of which are in our etsy shop. My 11 year old daughter(Kayla) makes jewelry for the dolls. I also use the stories of the historical dolls for my daughters history lessons for her homeschooling to make it more fun."

A double post day ! Guest Blogger Brandy shares her Thanksgiving Doll Meal with us

Guest Blogger and follower Brandy shared with me her Doll Holiday feast! This very creative mom has made some fantastic items for her daughters this holiday season.
This fun holiday meal was created by Brandy she shares in her own words how she made it...
"Thanksgiving is a very important holiday in my family. It is always hosted in our home. My daughter's asked me to make them a Thanksgiving dinner for their dolls. They were thrilled with the finished / creative product. My oldest made me promise to share my ideas so more girls could share the holiday with their dolls. I used tan foam paper for turkey slices, small white pompoms for mashed potatoes, light yellow coarse sponge for stuffing/dressing, red pipe cleaner coiled up for cranberries, light and dark odd cut shaped felt for a salad, tan foam paper/orange sponge/mini white pompom for pumpkin pie. The pie pan was from a pickle jar lid that I covered with foil. Happy Holidays...Enjoy!"

Brandy also purchased her doll sized table and chairs from Payne street doll boutique who are sold out for Christmas but you can contact them at http://www.psdollboutique.com/

Brandy of West Virginia,  is  a very creative mom too Jayla and Jemma who adore their American Girl Dolls and like most of us want everything in the catalog!  But, like most parents on a budget, Brandy  has to get creative!!  "Plus…I have to admit, I love the dolls too and making all these cute accessories.  I love it when I get an idea and the creative juices start flowing!" Says Brandy

Thank you Brandy for sharing your photos and creativity with us today!
If you have a photo, craft or story you would like to share with me please send it to karenmowen@gmail.com
I hope to see your holiday doll photos and I will post as many as I can here over the holidays!

The perfect dolly and me tea sets perfect holiay gifts or birthday party favors!

I came across this fun and fantastic Etsy shop called Holly Slay Handmade
Holly makes custom tea sets that are so whimsical and perfect for afternoon tea parties for girls and their dolls. These well made and reasonably priced sets are a prefect addition to any doll play collection.

This set of a child size tea cup and saucer accompany a doll sized cup and saucer for only $25!
Holly tells me that she has painted whimsical ceramics since college. She worked part time in a paint-your-own pottery studio.
"When my husband and I purchased our house, it had a basement perfect for a home studio and a kiln. Over the last ten years, I dabbled in it off and on, as family life allowed, mostly custom gift orders and a few sales on Etsy."

What inspired Holly to make sets for sale on Etsy?
"In 2010, I painted tea cups for my daughter's Alice in Wonderland 6th birthday party. Each guest received a cup as their party favor. They were such a hit with the little guests, I decided to list them in my etsy shop. Since then, I've been blessed with tons of orders and have painted hundreds of tea cups for little girls' parties! The cups are perfect for children and for dolls. Last spring, for my niece's tea party birthday party, I painted a 'doll & me' set. It's perfect for 18" size dolls. She loved it! Now I offer the sets in my etsy shop as well."

Holly's daughters (ages 7 & 3) love all things American Girl. " My oldest daughter has two My American Girl dolls, one that looks just like her (long blonde hair, blue eyed), and another one so her first one has a friend. We gave both daughters Bitty Baby dolls for their first birthdays and they are well loved"

I love the fact that you can order from this shop not just a tea cup and saucer but entire sets, perfect for birthday parties and the guests can keep their own cup! Starting at only $8.50 per person!
I love Fancy Nancy and the Pinkalicious series
Take a look at her tea sets inspired from these popular series
I love Fancy Nancy so do my nieces and this set is fantastic!
If you are a tea party enthusiast, or simply a parent, grandparent or friend looking to purchase a truly unique and special tea set for some one as special. Take a look at Holly's store at Holy Slay Handmade's Etsy shop and order early to avoid the holiday rush!

Nativity Sets for American Girl Dolls from a great Doll Play Etsy Shop

One of the most adorable Doll play sets I have come across yet on Etsy is from a store called Childrens Woodland I have featured this doll play shop before and as we approach the holiday gift giving season I wanted to share this shop with  you again. This adorable set priced at only $8.98 plus shipping.

I love that the dolls can hold each figure adding to the excitement of this doll play item.
The stable is hand made Elizabeth at Children's Woodland and made with great care.

I love to see everyday items re-purposed for doll play and I love it when special items like this one are available pre-made and afordable for doll play collections.
Passing down traditions in any family is important and if setting up a nativity scene is apart of your holiday celebrations then I recommend this set for the doll lover in your life.
