Today I had the good fortune of stopping by the American Girl Store in Vancouver to meet the new Girl of the Year Grace!
The entire staff including Nikki were so wonderful to the long line of doll lovers including myself. Such a great place to visit with staff who really care about dolls!
I was so excited to see the new CANADA Red Shirt! Loved the puppy too who is all soft bodied and his bow turns into a leash!
On the way in I was thrilled to receive the Girl of the Year Apron for my doll!
Here is what I bought! While I would loved to have brought Grace and her entire collection home my budget only allowed the book Grace Stirs it Up and The Canada Exclusive T-shirt! But A Girl can have a wish list!
Everything about this collection is perfect and on my wish list! The chair and the table set are 1st on my list, followed by Miss Grace herself and the mixer set! Now I just need a lotto win!
I had so much fun with our Doll community today and met some wonderful people. My friends Linda, Lauren, Deena, Miss Nikki and new friend Chloe! I had the great pleasure of meeting Youtuber Sarahagstudio's and her mom too! Check out her work by clicking here.
Thank you all for making today such a great day!

It's Christmas Eve! My Third Blog Aniversary!
How the time does fly! It is Christmas Eve. How does this happen? Every year it seems we plan and anticipate, scheme and prepare and yet it sneaks up on us year after year. This is such a special time for me, for my family and my blog and I thank each and everyone of you who has followed along this season, read my blog, stumbled on to us on Facebook, Pinterest or Blogger.
Not only is it Christmas Eve but it is also my blog's Third Anniversary. I began this blog Three years ago on a whim. I started this blog at the suggestion of strangers, who would later become treasured friends, that I had met through FB about sharing my doll sewing and craft adventures. I honestly never thought anyone would read it outside my own family. I could never have imagined the way this blog would change my life.
Three years ago a life I could not have imagined for myself began to unfold and each and everyone of you is a part of that journey. I want to thank you for stopping by, for what ever lead you here. Your words, comments and emails have been so encouraging, thoughtful and kind. It is for each one of you who took the time to let me know you were out there reading and enjoying my work that I continue to write, create and share.
A Special Thank you to Brandy, Madelon, Jessica T for the ideas, crafts and fun finds you have shared with me so that I can share with our readers. Thank you to Deena of Deena and Beena You tube and Lauren M for your wonderful Dolly Friendship. Thank you also to Kathryn at Daydream Doll Boutique for giving me another place to share my doll play ideas and crafts.
A Very Special thank you to Char at Doll Diaries, Anna at Doll it Up and Laura Kelly of Laura Kelly Designs who have included me on the most fantastic and creative teams I could have every dreamed of belonging too.
Thank you to all the wonderful Etsy Shops who have let us have a behind the scenes look at their passion and their work, the pattern designers who give me sneak peeks so that I may share my true opinions of their work with all of you. Thank you to Springfield Collection and Fiber Craft for creating a line of amazing dolls and products that truly helps put doll play in the hands of those who could not previously attain quality doll play items. Thank you to Canada's Maplelea for including us this year their in their 10 year anniversary and sending me their Set To Celebrate Party Set!
I would also like to thank the companies of Sculpey Clay, Buttons Galore & More, Rit Dye and Rit Studio, Coats & Clark, Red Heart Yarns, Plaid and Folk Art and Laura Kelly Designs for allowing me to share their amazing products with you and helping me to create wonderful doll play items for you, my nieces, my doll swap partners and my family.
Today I am so very thankful for all of you and hope you will join us for more doll play in the coming days and new year.
If Christmas is a holiday you and your family celebrate then I wish you a Very Merry Christmas and look forward to sharing more with you soon!

An Interview with Urban Chicken Studio's, Winner of The Deena and Beena Subscriber Contest!
As some of you know I was recently a judge for one of Beena and Deena's Youtube Channel. There were so many amazing entries and yes I watched all of them. It took Deena and I a truly long time to get through watching each and every one of them. I was amazed at how many people entered and how much work each person put into their submissions. I have to say there are so many wonderful and talented doll lovers out there and thank each of them for their efforts in creating these fun videos. Below is the winning stop motion video done by Urban Chicken Studios!
Part of the prize that Urban Chicken received was a chance to share her video and her interview questions with all of you today. Here the answers to our email interview as well as some of her fantastic photography!:
How long have you been making movies?
"Hmm. For about one year now. We started in August of 2012."
How many and which dolls do you have?
"We
have, in fact, 9 dolls in total! We have two "Felicities" (historical
1774) (one is re-named Piper), Elizabeth (historical 1774), Kit
(historical 1934), Zoey (mag/jly #29), Jane (mag/jly #55), McKenna (goty
2012), Sophia (mag/jly #33), and finally Mia. (goty 2008)"
When did you get your first doll?
"I think around 2003."
What is your favorite Doll?
"These
types of questions are so hard! I'm sorry but we just have way too many
favorites and we love all of them so, we can't answer that."
What is your favorite type of movie to make?
"Stop-Motions, definitely!"
What would you like our readers to know about you?
"I LOVE CHICKENS! I have 13. :)"
I have to tell you how very impressed I am with the photography and videos of Urban Chicken Studios.
I want to thank Deena and Beena for the honor of participating in her subscriber contest and tell you all what a privilege it was to be involved. I hope that we can work together again in the future and think you should check out the amazing things going on on Youtube for our dolls.
