Easter Swap Dress I Made!

In our Swap group on Swap-Bot We had an Easter Dress Swap. I decided to make a dress I thought my partner would enjoy as much as I do. I used a lavender bunny print I had in my stash. I love a classic and age appropriate look for my doll clothes and wanted something that had a holiday fun feeling. I chose a Kotton Candy Doll Fashion's Pattern for The Perfect Party Dress but used only the bodice pieces and then added my own bottom of the dress. I used a 9 inch by 16 inch wide piece of fabric and then I used a gather stitch along the top edge, then pinned it in place and sewed it. I was thrilled with how it turned out and made a second one so my doll Grace (My London Girl) could have one of her own.

I used a piece of vintage lace I had in my sewing stash and both dresses have the embellishment at the neck. I love the look of the lace! I hope my partner enjoy's this dress as much as I do!

My Paris Themed Swap Items A Swap I Did On My Swap-Bot Group

Today I wanted to share with you my Paris Themed Swap I put together for my partner on Swap-bot. We do monthly doll sewing swap challenges in my group and I hosted this Paris themed swap.

For my partner Betty I made a Pink Beret from the Free Beret Pattern on American -Girl-Outfiters.Com Website click here for the pattern,
I also made a simple skirt from the book Sew in Style, a Pull over Tank top embellished with a heart and matching socks. I also included a bracelet with an Eiffel Tower charm that I made and some dolly Chocolate Croissants and a box I picked up at Micheal's the craft store to put them in.
This was such a fun swap to make and I hope my partner enjoy's it! I love making and swapping doll items on Swap-bot!

Creating a doll sized party to go...Doll Play style.

As some of you know I belong to a craft and mail swapping site called Swap-bot and I have created a group there for swapping items for 18 inch dolls. One of the swaps we recently had was a Doll sized birthday party. It had to include party items for American Girl Dolls with a wrapped present. I had so much fun making mine for my partner, who like me makes items for her own dolls and her nieces.

I had a blast putting together my red and white themed party to go and I wanted to share the photos with you of the items I made.
The most fun I had was making the hats, I love to use vintage Ric Rack when ever I can, the price on the package I had was 29 cents, I loved using it! For the hats I also used some paper flowers from Micheals and added a button for the center of the flower. I made place mats with fun foam, napkin rings and cups that I embellished with red and white gem stones to match the party theme.
I did include in the box doll sized balloons, and streamers as well as the dress, bracelet and shoes my doll is wearing in the photo above.
For the wrapped gift I included a small doll sized tea set for my swap partners doll.

I had so much fun putting together this swap party to go that I will be making and selling the party sets in my Esty shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/Karenmomofthree?ref=si_shop
