Cabbage Patch Sunday Etsy Pattern Fun Finds
Earlier this week I had my nieces and my young BFF Angela over and they had my Cabbage Patch Dolls out and were playing with them. It did my heart good, actually one is still tucked in with a dolly quilt in my reading chair right now. My young niece PB always has me dressing and undressing her baby and has been asking me for a dolly sweater which I don't have in cabbage patch size so I got to thinking and looking on Etsy and found this pattern to share with you today.
Miss Meggy Designs has a few patterns for all the different sized Cabbage Patch Kids. The one above is for the 11 and 14 inch dolls you can view it by clicking here.
This photo made me quite excited, while I have the original dolls still I do have a few smaller ones and the sweater in the middle is one I would love to make my dolls! Click here for this PDF listing in her etsy shop.
If you are more into Sewing check out the PDF pattern for PJ's, Dressing Gown, Slippers and Pillow, with quilt, this one is on my wish list for sure! Click here to see why!

Cabbage Patch Sunday FUN FIND!
I have stumbled onto an Etsy shop that has me so very excited! This shop has a large selection of toys from my childhood including these minis!
The shop is called Smiling Memories and they have everything this now much older kid loved growing up, and they are pretty reasonably priced!
In many ways it is hard for me to resist ordering, it is like seeing the Christmas Catalog from Sears all over again!
Also it says it only ships within Canada which makes this Canadian seriously feel the urge to shop!
This shop has some amazing finds from the 70's and 80's do check it out by clicking here.
Smiling Memories lives up to it's name and I truly was smiling when I stumbled upon this etsy shop!

Cabbage Patch Kids In Time For The Holiday Rush
I remember my mother telling me about how all the moms in our neighborhood lined up before Christmas for the chance to get us Cabbage Patch Kids for Christmas in the 1980's and I still have and love mine! Madelon kindly sent me photos of the New Cabbage Patch kids, on store shelves now, boy have they sure changed but my excitement for them has not.
With their new hair and stylish outfits they are very different from the dolls I have, but they do have their adoption certificates and boy was that a cool thing, I still loved opening mine to see what the dolls names were!
long before the egg opening videos on you tube crazy the excitement kids feel and the wonderment of the wait is what I think of when I think of opening my first Cabbage patch kid, his name was Samuel and I he was my most favorite doll!
The glasses are so cute on these and the open toe shoes!
oh the joy of this playset! tiny Cabbage Patch doll and the doll play items, I would still have so much fun with this one.
I love the soft look of this all vinyl doll you can even take her in the bath!
These are new and sweet as can be from the Cabbage Patch line, these are the Adoptimals and I love their sweet faces!
Clearly I should not be let loose in the toy section of the store. Thank you Madelon for sharing these wonderful dolls with us today. Thank you too for joining us today, we would love to hear your Cabbage Patch stories so please feel free to share them with us here in the comment section below or email us at karenmowen@gmail.com

Welcome To Cabbage Patch Doll Sundays...
Today starts a new Sunday Series on Cabbage Patch Dolls. For the next two months we will spotlight these lovely dolls each Sunday...
Here is why, this is me in 1984 with one of my Cabbage Patch Dolls. I still have them! I had 4 Cabbage Patch dolls. Samuel, Jody, Andrew and Oookooopookoo, my Grandfather wrote stories about Oookoopookoo for my mother first and then me, so when I got her that is what we called her. In the coming weeks I am hoping to share my love of my Cabbage Patch Dolls with all of you and share some wonderful patterns, outfits and accessories for these dolls with all of you.
This series is inspired by the two patterns I purchased for 25 cents each at a yard sale recently. While I have not pulled anything out to sew yet, I have been inspired to share these and the love of these most treasured dolls with all of you.
I still remember that feeling I got when I first got my Samuel doll. My sisters (shown above) and I loved our dolls and we all still have them! This is me top left with Samuel, Oookoopookoo and my sister Bre's doll with red hair. My own red headed doll Jodie had a soother! SO that is how I know that is her doll and not mine.
I hope you will enjoy this series as much as I do in presenting it!
Thank you for joining us here today we would love to hear from you so please leave us a comment here or email us at karenmowen@gmail.com
