Looking For A Great Dough Recipe For Doll Play? This One is No Bake, White and Easy to Paint!

So I was talking with one of my readers who can not use oven baked clays due to a family members health and I remembered that there is a great no bake and easy to paint clay you can make and use for doll play!
Baking Soda and Cornstarch make a great dough that is totally white and easy to paint. It is a little more fragile to work with so not great for young children to play with roughly but for those who take great care of their things especially items they make check this recipe out!

Things you will need:
Baking soda 1 cup
Cornstarch 1/2 cup
Water 1/2 cup

Procedure:
Sift baking soda and cornstarch, and put them in a saucepan. Add water, and mix well until smooth. Place the dough in saucepan on stove and cook on medium heat.Stir constantly. When the mixture starts to boil, lower the heat but keep stirring until it takes the form of a ball. Now, remove the pan from stove and let it cool enough to touch. Grease a plain surface with cooking oil and knead the dough on it.Then cover the dough with a damp cloth until completely cool. Store the dough in an air-tight plastic bag in refrigerator.Do not eat, freeze or bake. Let the items air dry for a day or so.Then paint and varnish.

  1. Thanks! I've used this recipe before, but the instructions I used said to bake them. I may try it again with my kids using your method, since I've been wanting to make some cut-out cookies with them for the dolls.
