Welcome To Cabbage Patch Doll Sundays...

Today starts a new Sunday Series on Cabbage Patch Dolls. For the next two months we will spotlight these lovely dolls each Sunday...

Here is why, this is me in 1984 with one of my Cabbage Patch Dolls.  I still have them! I had 4 Cabbage Patch dolls. Samuel, Jody, Andrew and Oookooopookoo, my Grandfather wrote stories about Oookoopookoo for my mother first and then me, so when I got her that is what we called her. In the coming weeks I am hoping to share my love of my Cabbage Patch Dolls with all of you and share some wonderful patterns, outfits and accessories for these dolls with all of you.

This series is inspired by the two patterns I purchased for 25 cents each at a yard sale recently. While I have not pulled anything out to sew yet, I have been inspired to share these and the love of these most treasured dolls with all of you.

I still remember that feeling I got when I first got my Samuel doll. My sisters (shown above) and I loved our dolls and we all still have them! This is me top left with Samuel, Oookoopookoo and my sister Bre's doll with red hair. My own red headed doll Jodie had a soother! SO that is how I know that is her doll and not mine.
I hope you will enjoy this series as much as I do in presenting it!
Thank you for joining us here today we would love to hear from you so please leave us a comment here or email us at karenmowen@gmail.com

  1. I got my first Cabbage Patch Doll (Roz - Rozalyn Denise Daisy Grace; I added the last two names) the September before the big Christmas rush. She's awesome and I still have her. over the years I added Giuseppina Josephine, Samantha Beverly (baby), and Pierre Gaston (preemie).
