Today Madelon shares with us her recent visit to the Avalon Historical Society and shares her photos.
"I visited the Avalon Historical Society and found antique bathing suits"
The brown one is made of wool!
Madelon found this bathing suit at a vintage store for $50
Seeing Madelon's photos reminded me of a great pattern that Eden Ava had for a Vintage 1940's bathing suit. You can purchase it on Pixiefaire for $7.99 by clicking here.
Sew Adorable has this pattern for a Victorian Bathing Costume. Click here to learn more about this pattern listing.
I love looking back at fashions from over the years and to think about what it would be like to wear them. How daring it was for women to break free from having to be covered from neck to toes just to go swimming!
Thank you Madelon for sharing your photos with us today!
As with all our posts we would love to hear from you so please leave us a comment here or email us at karenmowen@gmail.com
