Today let's visit with AGcessories Etsy Shop

I happened upon AGcessories recently and wanted to share with you this fun Etsy shop. As I am ever curious about the people behind the Etsy shops I visit, I was pleased when Talia kindly shared some of her back ground with us.

Q: Please tell me how you got started creating items for American Girl Dolls and items for Doll lovers.

A:I have been a doll lover and collector my entire life. As a child, I had dozens of Barbies and other dolls. As a pre-teen and teenager, I began collecting Barbies and keeping my favorite ones in a display case. I did not know of American Girl when I was growing up. I have also been a crafter since I was in my early teens. So now that I have a daughter who is a huge American Girl fan, I have really gotten into dolls all over again. I love to play dolls with her and to make miniature accessories for them. I have found a way to combine my love for dolls and my love for crafting!

Q: Do you have any 18 inch dolls, if so, which ones?
A:I do not have any of my own. But my daughter is soon to have her 4th one (she is saving up for Saige). She has McKenna and two Just Like You dolls, and I use her dolls for all of my photos. Playing dolls with my daughter and making cute little items is an excuse for me to have fun playing with dolls. You’re never too old!

Q: What motivated you to open your Etsy shop?
A:I did not want to make just one or two accessories for my daughter’s dolls. I wanted to make more because I love making things. I thought, why can’t I make these for other little girls (or big girls ;)) to enjoy. I decided to open up a shop just for doll accessories and doll themed items so that I could constantly make the things I enjoy.

Q: What is it you like most about American Girl dolls?
A:I like their size, for one thing. Accessories for 18 inch dolls are so much fun because they are still miniature, but not too tiny. I like American Girl dolls specifically because their faces are so sweet and pretty, and their bodies are not too skinny, but are a fun size to dress and play with.

Q: What is your top seller?
A:My juice boxes are probably my top seller.

Q:What do you like making most?

A:It is hard to choose one, but the juice boxes are fun because they are just so realistic, they are one of my favorite things to make.

I am a wife, and stay at home mother of an 8 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. I recently had a Valentine's Day tea party for my daughter in which all the girls brought their dolls and got to make doll sized heart boxes and chocolates to take home. I love children, so this is another way for me to have fun with dolls, crafts, and kids! I have worked with children my whole teen and adult life in one way or another. Aside from enjoying doll crafts, I also enjoy graphic design, which I have also tried to incorporate into my doll shop by designing cards that are American Girl inspired. I admit that I am a conspiracy theory nut, I love the Cheesecake Factory, I like to swim, and I like to listen to blues. Jane Eyre is one of my favorite classics. I am always coming up with new items for my etsy shop, and I take inspiration from my daughter's interests, and the latest American Girl trends. So check back often to see what's new! Thanks for taking the time to read a little about my doll shop, I hope you enjoy b
rowsing!
